About Me
I’m a Lead Product Designer and Design Manager, co-host of Design Lab : Berlin, speaker & facilitator and judge for international design competitions. I live and work in beautiful Berlin, Germany.
I lead the end-to-end product design experience and product strategy on various projects while optimising collaboration and processes for cross-discipline teams.
In parallel, I support and guide designers in their growth and career progression as their direct manager, while driving a strong, user centric design culture within the organisation through vision, collaboration, operations and team initiatives.
My Principles
01
The Product Team Comes First
— Advocate for collaboration, transparency and a user-centric design approach within the team and with our cross-disciplines partners and stakeholders. We are one team and have a common goal, strategy and vision.
— Effective collaboration is key. Enable continuous collaboration based on trust and respect while leveraging different perspectives across the organisation.
— Facilitate conversations and collective exercises to answer together critical business questions and create meaningful digital experiences as a product team.
02
Support & Guide With Empathy
— Mentor, support and proactively guide each team member’s growth and career progression to build a strong design team and the next generation of design leadership.
— Support and adapt to diverse individuals, backgrounds and sensibilities to ensure everyone in the team feels equally supported in their growth. Prioritise well-being, learning and self reflection.
— Celebrate personal and professional successes of all sizes and encourage people to reflect and learn from all experiences and outcomes in a constructive way.
— Encourage initiatives and support the growth of individuals and the team with an approach based on trust, support, accountability where empathy for others is key, from teammates to the people they design products for.
03
Care for your craft, build & share the culture
— Encourage the team to participate in the vision and strategy and share their enthusiasm for design and a user-centric approach beyond the design team. They are the best advocates to help the cross-discipline teams and stakeholders to understand the “why” behind product decisions.
— Advocate for flexibility through respect and collaboration. While striving for design excellence and design maturity, embrace with pragmatism the reality and needs for adaptivity of a tangible product and a cross-discipline team.
— Build a strong, mature and inclusive design culture by celebrating and sharing our craft and achievements through rituals and share-outs at the team, company and community level.
— Optimise design as a discipline and thrive to design excellence through care and attention to details, a rigorous data informed and user-centric approach and strong processes and communication.
